A complete fiber optic tool kit contains the core tools for stripping, cleaving, cleaning, terminating, and testing fiber: fiber strippers, a precision cleaver, Kevlar (aramid) scissors, one-click and reel cleaners, splice protection sleeves, and often a visual fault locator or power meter — organized in a carrying case for field transport.
Which fiber optic tool kit should I buy? +
For full FTTH installation work, choose a complete FTTH tool kit that includes strip-and-cleave tools plus test gear. If you already own strippers and cleavers, a dedicated cleaning kit or a splicing accessory kit fills the gaps. Do fiber optic tool kits include a fusion splicer? +
Most tool kits include the prep and accessory tools — strippers, cleaver, sleeves, and cleaning supplies — but not the fusion splicer itself, which is purchased separately. We do not have QBL's packing lists for the kits we carry yet, so we do not say which of them include one.
Are these kits suitable for FTTH drop installations? +
Yes. The FTTH tool kit and termination kits are built specifically for fiber-to-the-home drop and termination work, including SC/APC connectorization, cleaving, and end-face cleaning required for low-loss connections.
